Stainless steel bottles have become highly popular and as a result scammers have entered the business in droves. Consumers, beware of these scams!
Customers who purchased Eco Canteen stainless steel water bottles for roughly $10 soon saw other miscellaneous charges on their bank statements, such as outrageous fees for shipping and handling. Furthermore, many purchasers cited the poor quality of the bottles, and upon returning them, were not fully refunded. Please do not fall for the “upsells” offered by companies such as these.
Other scammers have sold aluminum bottles and called them stainless. Aluminum leaches alumina, which has been linked to Alzheimer’s disease. Also companies are dumping very low-grade stainless steel bottles on the market and people assume they are getting food grade 304 stainless.
