Medical Group Issues BPA Intake Warning
A recent study performed by Dr. Frederick vom Staal of the Endocrine Society showed that human exposure to BPA is likely much higher than previously thought, and much higher than deemed safe by the FDA. The findings were so significant that the Society issued a BPA intake warning at its annual meeting earlier this month.
Human and animal studies have linked BPA to numerous health problems, including heart disease, liver failure, prostate and breast cancers, and reproductive abnormalities.
Staal went on to stress the importance of limiting ones exposure to the chemical, which means finding any means necessary to avoid products made of plastic.
