Coca Cola’s announcement that its UK version of Dasani brand bottled water came out of the London public supply should hardly have come as a surprise. Figures from independent beverage research company Canadean show that at least two out of every five bottles of water sold around the world are, like Dasani, fancy tap water, rather than “source” water which comes from a spring. This metric holds true to the United States as well.
The average American uses 170 plastic water bottles in one year, totaling 50 Billion plastic bottles a year!
