A Rave Review of New Wave Enviro’s 40-ounce Stainless Steel Water Bottle

Tuesday, June 29th, 2010

If you’re looking for a good reason to purchase one of New Wave’s Seriously Safe Stainless Steel drinking water bottles, look no further!  Below you will see what a New Wave customer said about the awesome 40-ounce drinking water bottle:

“I just bought this bottle like a week ago and I can tell it’s already better than a Sigg and other bottles I’ve tried in the past. First of all, it’s not aluminum and yeah yeah they Sigg tells you it’s coated and you don’t have to worry about aluminum exposure. But let me tell you I’ve tried 2 of their bottles and turned them back. The first one I had the threads were not properly coated and I tasted aluminum every time I took a sip, and the second started tasting bad because I forgot to wash it only one night, One Night! That’s all it took, and the bad taste would not go away, even after soaking it in baking soda and water, and after that didn’t work, vinegar and water. Turned it back, got this one instead, it was worth it. First of all there are a couple of great pros compared to other bottles.

1. Stainless steel – You don’t have to worry about exposing yourself to aluminum or plastic that is said to impart chemicals into the water.
2. The cap is perfect in everyway, Leak proofed by a silicon O-ring that’s firmly in place. The entire part of the cap that screws into the bottle is sealed off and is completely made of Stainless steel with nice big rounded threads so you won’t have to worry about it stripping in the future. Something Sig bottles looked like they would have a problem with in the future, especially since their cap is plastic, and the bottle treads are aluminum. Stupid idea.
3. Wide mouthed opening
4. Lightweight
5. Taste-Free
6. Easy to clean………And if you forget to clean it, there is nothing to worry about since everything is stainless steel, not some funky rubbery membrane that holds on to smells and taste.

But the main bottom line is, I’m now saving money by not buying water that is questionably pure from companies like Aquafina and Dasani, of which used to give me terrible heartburn anyway.”

Go Green This 4th of July

Monday, June 21st, 2010

That’s right everyone, 4th of July is just around the corner.  Go out and flaunt your red, white, blue, and….green colors!

While you’re out celebrating your country’s freedom and independence, support its sustainability as well by being eco-friendly.  It’s not unusual that one’s festivities on this national holiday are detrimental to the earth, whether it be the carbon emitted from grilling steaks or the litter we produce from using plastic plates, cups, and silverware.

I’m not trying to rain on your patriotic parade, but rather to offer some friendly advice on how to celebrate green.  Such techniques include avoiding plastics, which you can achieve by using New Wave’s EASTAR resin drinking water bottle to quench your thirst and packing your picnic food in New Wave’s 100% Bamboo lunch bag and stainless steel food containers.

Other tips include….

-Lightening up your fireworks

-Going green with grilling

-Including organic foods and sustainable vegetable-based items in your 4th of July Menu

Smart Money Is On Water Filters

Sunday, June 13th, 2010

If you learn that your water has worrying contaminants, you might want to consider purchasing a water filter rather than buying water bottles and contributing to mountains of plastic waste.  An estimated 1.5 million tons of plastic is manufactured from petrochemicals each year to package water, according to an April 2001 report by the World Wildlife Fund. The EPA estimates that roughly 1 million tons of plastic bottles wound up in U.S. trash bins in 1999, alone!

In addition, why purchase bottled water when it costs 240 to 10,000 times more per gallon than tap water? For just pennies a day, a water filter can provide safe drinking water for you and your family. You’ll not pay anything extra for transportation costs or cheap packaging that harms the environment.  New Wave Enviro’s Premium 10 Stage Water Filter is the most reasonable and affordable when compared to other major brands that remove as many contaminants as this filter.  Copy and paste the below link in your browser to learn more about this amazing filter:

Hidden Costs of Bottled Water

Wednesday, June 9th, 2010

Strictly speaking, water from a tap isn’t free — it costs about $0.00002 per ounce.  Bottled water; however, is an alarming 1,000 to 4,000 times more expensive for a single serving!  Some cities, including San Francisco, Albuquerque, Minneapolis, and Seattle, have banned city purchase of single-serve, one-time-use bottled water because of waste impact from the bottles and because it’s viewed as an unnecessary cost to taxpayers.

And there’s the waste stream from one-time use water bottles, as the impact of using these unnecessary items puts a much larger dent in our environment than our wallets…

Over the course of 10 years, the amount of polyethylene terephthalate (PET) bottles going into landfills skyrocketed from 1,175 million to 3,900 million pounds.  “Water bottles are a big part of that problem,” said Marion Brown, a professor at Ithaca College, “because there are so many more of them, and because in many states, water bottles don’t have a redemption value like soda and beer bottles do.” Brown added that better recycling rates of water bottles would certainly help, but even better would be for people to stop purchasing one-time use water bottles altogether.

Such products as New Wave’s Seriously Safe Stainless Steel 6 ounce reusable drinking water bottles are a great solution for the plastic-conscious individual and, more importantly, the environment.  Visit www.newwaveenviro.com to learn more!
