EASTAR Resin
New Wave Enviro, since its inception, has focused on products that are reusable and thus reduce plastic landfill waste. We are delighted to be able to offer products using a material that offers complete re-usability and yet is easily recyclable in the unlikely event a consumer decides to discard their bottle.
FAQS
1. Does this material contain BPA?
Eastar is BPA-free!
2. Is the bottle rigid?
Yes, it is a glass like material that holds its shapes and will not shatter.
3. Is it easy to drink from with a sports cap?
Because the material is glass like, it cannot easily be squeezed. In order to achieve a smooth water flow, New Wave Enviro offers this product with its unique air intake cap.
4. Does this material carry a “7” recycle code?
No, although it is reusable and glass like, it is wholly unique in that it carries a “1” recycle code. If these bottles are discarded, they are easily recyclable.
5. How do I clean the bottle?
We hand wash ours with detergent or a cap full of white vinegar, baking soda or dish soap and tap water. Dishwashers with heat in excess of 120 degrees may warp the bottle. The cap can be cleaned in a dishwasher.
6. I’m not sure I want to use plastic of any kind?
This has become a growing concern. Our goal lies in providing litter free alternatives to single use or limited use plastic bottles. These Eastar™ Resin bottles provide an inexpensive reusable alternative for eco-conscious consumers. If however you want non plastic alternatives New Wave Enviro offers a complete line of 304 food grade stainless steel bottles and a corn resin(PLA) bottle that will degrade in a commercial compost in 80 days.
7. Will the color leach into the water?
No, the color is a standard consumer tint that is embedded inside the plastic and will not leach.
8. Can I put the bottle in my freezer?
We do not recommend freezing as frozen water expands and could crack the bottle. The 48mm mouth is large enough to put ice cubes in.
